BBH Burrell Behavioral Health in St. Louis, MO is seeking a dedicated Medic II to support individuals with substance use and behavioral health challenges within the Sobering Center.

You will monitor medical status, conduct screenings, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure safe, effective care and recovery. Qualifications include Missouri paramedic licensure, at least one year of paramedic experience, and strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed as a Paramedic in Missouri required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a paramedic.
• Knowledge of mental health services and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation principles, healthcare practices, and alternative treatment approaches preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct medical screenings and assessments to determine appropriateness for Sobering Center services and assign the appropriate level of care
• Monitor client health status, vital signs, and progress throughout the duration of services provided
• Provide education regarding medications, treatment plans, and health‑related concerns to support client understanding and engagement
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health Technicians, treatment team members, and other clinical staff to coordinate client care and support positive outcomes
• Respond promptly to medical concerns and alert appropriate personnel during emergency situations
• Assign beds or recliners based on clinical needs and program protocols
• Observe and monitor the client population to promote a safe and therapeutic environment
• Communicate significant treatment information, changes in condition, and recommendations to treatment team members
• Participate in staffing's and contribute to the development of effective interventions and care planning strategies
• Document client activities, behaviors, assessments, and services accurately and in a timely manner
• Support program goals, quality initiatives, and organizational objectives
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
