Job summary

Biolog in Morgan Hill, CA is seeking a detail‑oriented Manufacturing Technician, Materials and Batching to join our Media Production team. You will prepare pre‑reduced anaerobically sterilized culture media to defined specs while supporting materials management and inventory accuracy.

This hands‑on role combines precise media batching, operation of production equipment, detailed documentation, and procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life science with relevant lab experience.
• Basic chemistry and mathematics knowledge to measure and prepare media.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and perform multiple steps.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and contamination prevention.
• Experience operating production equipment for media preparation.
• ERP tasks related to inventory, purchasing, and materials management.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to escalate when needed.
• Ability to stand for ~2 hours, lift 15‑35 lbs, move equipment up to 100 lbs.
• Work in PPE and safe lab/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Check production calendar and prepare manufacturing and quality control records.
• Prepare records and verify lot numbers, quantities, and mixing volumes.
• Measure, prepare, add, and mix ingredients per work instructions with documentation.
• Operate equipment for media preparation: autoclaves, boilers, stir plates, reactors, pH meters, scales.
• Return components to storage and clean equipment and work areas.
• Manage Media Production inventory and procurement in NetSuite (POs, replenishment).
• Identify opportunities to reduce material costs with suppliers and bulk discounts.
• Follow sterile technique, SOPs, and ISO/GMP practices.
• Escalate complex production or materials issues to Operations Manager.
