Job summary

Plainfield Community School Corporation's Van Buren Elementary seeks a friendly Media Center Instructional Assistant to support students and teachers in the library, help with check-out, and foster a love of reading and learning. You will work closely with the Media Specialist in a dynamic school environment.

In this role, you assist with research and technology navigation, contribute to displays and literacy events, and help maintain an inviting library atmosphere for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and student-focused Media Center Instructional Assistant to join our school team. In this role, you will help manage daily media center/library operations and directly support students and teachers in accessing books, digital tools, and learning resources. The ideal candidate loves working with children, possesses strong tech troubleshooting skills, and thrives in a bustling, collaborative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Student & Instructional Support: Assist individuals and small groups of students with reading selection, research, and basic technology navigation.
