Job summary

Henry Ford Health System seeks a MedEd Consultant Resident Onboarding to manage graduate medical education onboarding, hiring, and regulatory processes at the Detroit main campus. The role includes coordinating orientation for trainees, leading cross‑functional teams, and ensuring timely project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, business, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in an educational or medical office/administrative/project management environment.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data collection and entry ability with attention to detail; requires high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and data management applications.

Responsibilities

• Works in concert with leadership to determine the focus and direction of department initiatives and projects.
• Assigns tasks related to project work to other administrative staff as appropriate.
• Develops and implements solutions to improve current processes and procedures related to project work.
• Leads and serves on cross-functional teams across the organization representing the department.
• Performs project management/coordination to ensure workflows are within time parameters with internal and external stakeholders.
• Creates and manages budgets related to department projects and initiatives and monitors spending.
• Designs reports and distributes to appropriate parties.
• Safeguards and protects confidential information.
• Manages onboarding of trainees, including regulatory requirements (visas, fingerprinting, background checks, graduation verification, I-9, health screening).
• Oversees all aspects of onboarding and data in the student/residency management system; audits information for accuracy.
• Serves as primary contact to Henry Ford Health departments to ensure onboarding and trainee support.
• Organizes and schedules hospital orientation for incoming trainees to complement program orientation.
• Understands accreditation requirements and ensures compliance.
• Maintains communication with students, residents, fellows, and physicians; advises on requirements and deadlines; obtains signatures.
• Plans and coordinates events, orientations, courses, seminars, programs, and presentations; monitors attendance and budget.
• Develops recruitment strategies and responds to information requests.
