Job summary

Henry Ford Hospital - Detroit Main Campus is seeking a Medical Education Consultant to oversee education project work and the graduate medical education program. This in-person role will manage onboarding, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional initiatives to support residents and trainees.

The position requires collaboration with multiple departments, budget oversight, and development of reports and processes to improve onboarding and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, business, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in an educational or medical office/administrative/project management environment.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data collection and entry ability with attention to detail; requires high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and data management applications.

Responsibilities

• Works with leadership to determine focus and direction of department initiatives and projects.
• Assigns tasks related to project work to staff as appropriate.
• Develops and implements solutions to improve processes related to project work.
• Leads and serves on cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Manages project coordination to meet timelines with internal and external stakeholders.
• Creates and manages budgets related to department projects and monitors spending.
• Designs reports and distributes to appropriate parties.
• Safeguards and protects confidential information.
• Oversees onboarding of trainees and ensures regulatory requirements are met (Visas, fingerprinting, background checks, I-9 verifications, etc.).
• Maintains data in the trainee/residency management system and audits for accuracy.
• Serves as primary contact to Henry Ford Health departments to ensure onboarding and trainee support.
• Organizes hospital orientations for new and rotating medical students, interns, and residents.
• Ensures adherence to ACGME or other boards training program requirements.
• Maintains communication with students, residents, fellows, and physicians; arranges documentation signatures.
• Plans events, orientations, courses, seminars, and presentations; manages attendance and budgets; coordinates speakers and materials.
