Job summary

Wallick Communities seeks a Certified Medication Aide in Toledo for a full-time 3pm-11pm shift. You will administer medications under a licensed nurse, monitor residents, and document care in a compassionate, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Current valid Medication Aide Certificate authorized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Nurse Aide Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Promptly report to the nurse when a resident requests PRN medications.
• Report any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.
• Provide exceptional personal care and daily assistance to residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, management and families.
• Maintain knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Provide physical resident care including personal hygiene and grooming.
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to residents' needs.
• Monitor and document meal intake and nutritional status as prescribed.
• Use proper technique for first aid.
• Complete documentation of medication administration.
• Contribute to a therapeutic environment for residents.
• Encourage resident involvement in activities.

What You'll Do

• Administer medications, as prescribed, and under the direction of a licensed nurse
• Promptly report to the nurse, a resident’s request/need for PRN medications.
• Promptly report to the nurse any adverse or concerning reactions to medications.
• Provide exceptional Personal service and daily care to residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff management and families.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming.
• Answers call lights in a timely manner and responds accordingly to the resident’s needs.
• Assists in maintaining acceptable nutrition for residents and documents meal intake, as prescribed.
• Knows proper technique for first aide.
• Completes documentation of medication administration.
• Assists in maintaining a therapeutic environment for the residents.
• Motivates and encourages resident involvement in the participation in activities.
• Assists residents to and from activities.
• Lifting, turning, and re-positioning residents as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Care or Designee.
