Job summary

Avamere in Spokane, WA is hiring a full-time caregiver for the evening shift (2pm-10pm). You will assist residents with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Candidates should have a WA HCA or CNA, ongoing CPR/First Aid certification, and a Food Handler's Card. EMR experience and a genuine passion for improving senior quality of life are pluses.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a caregiver in an assisted living facility.
• Must have an active WA State HCA or CNA.
• Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and calm.

Responsibilities

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food, and removing trays from rooms.
• Emotional Support and Companionship: Providing empathy, listening, encouragement, and social interaction.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe environment including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.
• Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy: Observing health changes, reporting concerns, and monitoring vital signs.
• Other: Answer calls for assistance, maintain confidentiality, ensure safety, and assist with orientation and other duties.

Wage: $19.00 - $21.00

Location: Avamere at South Hill; 3708 East 57th Ave; Spokane, WA 99223

• Status: Full-time
• Shift: Evening (2pm-10pm)

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms

Emotional Support and Companionship

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications
