Job summary

Avamere at South Hill in Spokane, WA is seeking a part-time Caregiver for an evening shift (2pm-10pm). Wage ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Duties include ADLs assistance, emotional support, light housekeeping, and resident safety.

Responsibilities cover mobility aid use, meal preparation, health monitoring, and timely escalation of concerns to supervisors. A friendly, attentive demeanor and a genuine desire to improve seniors’ lives are essential. Benefits available.

Qualifications

• Must have an active WA State HCA or CNA.
• Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Provide mobility assistance and support with walking and transfers.
• Assist with meal preparation and setting up meals, plus tray removal.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment including housekeeping and laundry.
• Monitor health, report concerns to medical staff, and observe vital signs.
• Respond to resident calls promptly and maintain confidentiality.

Caregiver - Part-time

• Status: Part-time
• Shift: Evening (2pm-10pm)

Wage: $19.00 - $21.00

Location: Avamere at South Hill; 3708 East 57th Ave; Spokane, WA 99223

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, includingassisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene:Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance:Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation:Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support:Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship:Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in an Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have an active WA State HCA or CNA.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
