Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living in Spokane, WA, is seeking a part-time Caregiver for the evening shift (2pm-10pm) at Avamere at South Hill. You will assist with ADLs, provide emotional support, perform light housekeeping, and monitor residents' health, with emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

CPR/First Aid and Food Handler's Card are preferred, experience in Memory Care a plus. We offer benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have ability to obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal prep.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
