Qualifications

• State-verified licensing: Medication Administration training, First Aid as required by ALF regulations; CO QMAP.
• Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare experience preferred; experience in assisted living or memory care with medication administration.
• Continuing Education: Monthly in-service education within the community.
• Other: Proficient in reading/writing English; able to read safety rules and manuals; good communication; follow written and oral directions; teamwork with licensed nurses.
• Job Knowledge: Medication administration procedures; universal precautions.
• Industry Experience: 3+ years in senior living preferred; experience in assisted living.
• Benefits eligibility: Team members working 24+ hours/week and families eligible.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document medications per MAR under physician orders.
• Order meds from pharmacy 7 days before running out; coordinate with Wellness Director.
• Document medications administered in resident's medical record and initial bubble pack.
• Observe and report adverse drug reactions to the licensed nurse.
• Take vital signs prior to meds that could affect vital signs.
• Report medication errors to the Wellness Director immediately.
• Assist with development/review of residents' care plans.
• Ensure privacy, respect, and dignity of residents.
• Detect and report unsafe conditions.
• Ensure residents' comfort, safety, and well-being.
• Assist in daily care tasks: toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, dressing, etc.
