The Med Tech role focuses on quality care and medication administration within policy guidelines, supporting residents with daily activities and documenting status in daily logs.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a Medication Aide Course completion, and current CNA and Med Tech licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain resident areas.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs.
• Complete medication cart audits and document in logs.
• Maintain EMAR/MAR documentation and Daily Log.
• Communicate medication needs to the HCD and update EMAR.
