Job summary

Magnolia Court in Vacaville, CA seeks a Medication Aide/Tech to administer medications, assist with ADLs, and monitor resident safety. You will maintain accurate records, follow physician orders, and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of state certified medication aide/tech course.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret orders and charting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medication administration and treatment assistance per provider orders.
  • Supervise residents who self-administer medications following guidelines.
  • Maintain and update resident medication records and incident reports.
  • Assist residents with ADLs, meals, and daily living activities.
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition promptly to supervisor.
  • Communicate with physicians via fax/phone and document in charts.

Job description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Schedule is 3 days AM and 2 Days PM ( Full time Position) or Part time AM SHIFT, Part time PM shift
  • Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider’s orders
  • Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution and incidents; Observe residents for safety and reports any and all changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to LN on duty
  • Assisting residents with ADL tasks including but not limited to: assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, serving and assisting with meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry
  • Always observe and uphold resident rights; assist residents to and from meals; Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner
  • Must be willing to work with and provide assistance to other staff from all departments to ensure quality of care for residents
  • Documents pertinent information in residents charts and in other specified locations (e.g.; alert charting and incident reports)
  • Communicates with physicians, via fax and telephone
  • Keep environment safe and clean for residents
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Carry and posses a working knowledge of community communication system and EHR.
  • Observes for and reports resident problems and reports such problems to supervisor

  • Must maintain proper hygiene and be professional in dress and presentation.
  • Must be a mature individual. Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
  • Must be detail and teamwork oriented and have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
  • Must be Drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire and routinely.
  • Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old.
  • Maintains current CPR and first aid certification
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret charting standards, physician orders, or administrative regulations.
  • Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
  • Must attend required in-services / workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
  • Successful completion of state certified medication aide/tech course.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing in standard English.
  • The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.
Physical Demands and Requirements:
  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
  • Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
