Job summary

Fields Senior Living in California seeks a compassionate caregiver to provide medication administration, assist with daily living activities, and monitor resident health per provider orders. You will document in resident charts, communicate with physicians, and maintain a safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities include supervising self-administration, assisting with ADLs, upholding resident rights, and collaborating with the care team to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

  • Must be drug-free and submit to urinalysis drug screening upon hire and routinely.
  • Must pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old.
  • Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret charting standards, physician orders, or administrative regulations.
  • Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
  • Must attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
  • Successful completion of state-certified medication aide/tech course.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing in standard English.
  • The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.

Responsibilities

  • Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance according to the health care provider’s orders.
  • Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution and incidents; observe residents for safety and report changes to LN on duty.
  • Assist residents with ADL tasks such as bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry.
  • Observe and uphold resident rights; assist residents to and from meals in a courteous, empathetic manner.
  • Work with other staff across departments to ensure quality of care for residents.
  • Document pertinent information in resident charts and other locations; alert charting and incident reports as needed.
  • Communicate with physicians via fax and telephone.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents.
  • Carry and possess working knowledge of community communication system and EHR.
  • Observe for and report resident problems to supervisor.
  • Must be neat in appearance and maintain a professional image; demonstrate safe working practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of residents and staff.
  • Be upbeat, flexible, and cooperative with colleagues, residents, and the public.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and servicesaccordingtothe health care provider’s orders

  • Assisting residents with ADL tasks including but not limited to: assisting with bathing,grooming,toileting,dressing,oralcare,ambulation,transfers,servingandassistingwithmeals,feeding,housekeeping,bedmaking,andlaundry
  • Always observe and uphold resident rights; assist residents to and from meals; Relatetoresidentsin a courteous, empathetic,and cooperative manner
  • Must be willing to work with and provide assistance to other staff from all departments toensure quality of care for residents

Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.

  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
