Job summary

The Sherman Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg/Telemetry Department to assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients. This role operates under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and unit to maintain a safe environment.

Candidates should have a current CNA certificate (preferred) and BLS certification on hire or within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Possesses knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for patients.
• Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.
