Job summary

Desert Valley Hospital in Southern California is seeking a Nurse Assistant in the Med Surg/Telemetry Department. This unlicensed, non-certified assistant supports daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification, with a current BLS credential, and has knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in acute care or a physician’s office is preferred, and the position is scheduled for daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe environment and support patient comfort in the Med Surg/Telemetry unit.
• Provide care to non-critical patients and report changes to supervising staff
