Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to physicians.
• Educate patients and families and supervise nursing staff as needed.
• Maintain standards of care in the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and treatment responses.
