Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit on the night shift. This full-time role includes a sign-on bonus up to $30,000 for qualified candidates and supports ongoing training and professional growth.

The RN will perform patient assessments, administer medications, coordinate with physicians and the health team, and educate patients and families while following clinical protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure in good standing and BCLS certification required.
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Educates patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
• Engages in infection control and safety initiatives.
