Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. The role involves caring for post-surgical and medical patients with diverse needs in a busy hospital setting.

The position offers a sign-on bonus and full-time employment with comprehensive benefits. Active RN license, BLS/ACLS certifications, and hospital experience are required or preferred per policy.

Qualifications

• Active state RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required on hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
• Monitor vital signs and intake/output; detect changes.
• Identify deterioration and respond promptly.
• Administer medications safely and monitor effects.
• Coordinate care between patients, families and team.
• Educate patients on condition, treatment and recovery.
• Communicate with doctors, therapists and social workers to adjust plans.
