Job summary
Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical/Surgical on a full-time day shift with 12-hour shifts every third weekend. You will care for patients under supervision, and contribute to nursing plans of care and patient outcomes.
The role includes a $15,000 commitment bonus over two years, plus comprehensive benefits and opportunities for continuing education. Iowa-licensed RNs with BLS and recent experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current Iowa or compact-state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Recent RN experience in medical/surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
- Document patient care and monitor patient condition with the care team.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and ambulation.
- Coordinate care across disciplines, transfers, discharges, and referrals.
- Educate patients and families appropriately for age and culture.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
