Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent on the job training for area for a minimum of three months required.
• Must maintain current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Take initial vital signs, measurements, and weights and orient patients to the unit.
• Deliver patient care per unit standards and document accordingly; assist RN.
• Assist with procedures within scope; demonstrate sterile technique and perform EKGs as needed.
• Monitor intake/output and report changes to the RN promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Transport patients and stock supplies; keep area clean and organized.
• Provide and document patient treatments within scope of practice.
• Participate in in-services and Performance Improvement initiatives; collaborate to meet goals.
