HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Springfield, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support nursing staff with bedside care on a hospital Med Surg unit.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, 1 year of PCA experience or 6 months plus CNA/PCT certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Schedule is 24 hours per week, days, with every other weekend requirement. HSHS offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year nursing assistant or PCA experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or PCA experience with certification.
• CNA or PCT certification in state of practice required with 6 months experience; certification not required with >1 year experience.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and nursing support on Med Surg unit.
• Assist nursing staff to ensure patient comfort, safety, and hygiene.
