Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for a 36-hour weekly night shift at St John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role supports the nursing staff in a hospital setting, delivering bedside care to patients and ensuring comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year PCA/Nurse Assistant experience (or 6 months with certification), and BLS within 30 days of hire. CNA or PCT certification in state is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience with certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and support to patients.
• Assist nursing staff with routine tasks and procedures.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the care team.
