Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Nurse Apprentice to work under RN supervision in the Spanish Fork Hospital setting. The position requires commitment to at least 12 hours per week during the last semester, per Utah guidelines, and involves direct patient care and documentation.

The candidate must be licensed as a Nurse Apprentice in Utah or enrolled in an accredited nursing program and hold BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered as a Nurse Apprentice with the state of Utah.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Routinely observes, discusses, and demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised under direct supervision of an RN.
• Assessment: Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) and reports significant changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
• Completes accurate documentation, verified by the supervising RN.
• Evaluation: Reports patient responses to treatments and collaborates with the RN regarding changes requiring modification of nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
• May assist an RN with the following (1:1 supervision required): Arterial line blood draws, Blood transfusion, IV therapy, Oral medication administration, Initiating tube feedings.
