Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Med/Surg unit. You will join a 39-bed team delivering compassionate care alongside RNs, LPNs and CNAs, with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, contributing to patient assessments, treatments and comfort.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification. The role emphasizes safety, dignity and teamwork in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients and maintain a safe environment at all times.
• Assist patient with tests, procedures, and ambulation.
• Provide basic care tasks and comfort measures.
• Read to patients and engage in appropriate activities as directed.
• Refer patient requests to nursing staff via call system.
