Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Charge Medical Surgical RN to provide clinical leadership and expertise in a Med/Surg environment. You will guide patient care, ensure high quality and efficient care, and support a collaborative team focused on positive patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida RN license (or compact licensure with active FL license within 60 days), possess a Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and have BLS certification with prior acute care RN experience.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse license or compact licensure with active FL RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and interpersonal communication; able to read and follow instructions; proficient PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for Med/Surg patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records, including posting tests and results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Provide leadership to the nursing team during the designated shift.
