Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, efficient care in a busy Med/Surg unit. You’ll join an amazing team that supports each other and values patient care as highly as we do.

You will assess and plan care, educate patients and families, maintain and review records, and administer medications in accordance with physician orders. Florida RN licensure (compact eligible) and BLS are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Florida Registered Nurse license (or compact license with active FL RN within 60 days).
• Nursing Diploma or ASN is required; BSN preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions; proficient PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for Med/Surg patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including test results and documentation.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
