Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas seeks a licensed practical nurse for Medical-Surgical duties. The role supports RN-led care, performing assessments, wound care, and medication administration as part of a collaborative team.

Applicants must hold a Tennessee LPN license, have completed a Practical Nursing program, and obtain BLS within 30 days of hire. One year of prior Med-Surg or acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee or compact LPN license.
• Graduation from a Practical Nursing program.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year prior experience preferred.
• LPN license for the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist in patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Perform plan of care interventions including wound care and specimen collection.
• Administer medications as directed while documenting care.
• Assist RN with developing care plans.
• Monitor and communicate patient status to RN/physician/family.
• Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
