Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester is seeking a Behavioral Health LPN to support patient care during nights, under RN supervision, in a busy behavioral health setting. The role emphasizes compassionate, safe, and compliant care.

You will provide direct patient care and assist with plan-of-care tasks as needed. Required are a Tennessee LPN license and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, plus strong critical thinking.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee LPN license and graduation from a practical nursing program.
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist in patient assessment by collecting data for RN analysis.
• Perform plan-of-care interventions including wound care and specimen collection.
• Assist with development of the plan of care and activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to RN and families.
• Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.

How You'll Contribute

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provide direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Under the direction of an RN or Rehab Charge Nurse, contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication and document patient care given.
• Assist RN with development of plan of care.
• Assist patients with performance of activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

• Current Tennessee or compact state LPN license and graduation from a practical nursing program.
• Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• One year of previous experience preferred.
• LPN license for the State of Tennessee.
• Graduate of a practical nursing program.
