Job summary

Appling-Healthcare-System in Baxley, GA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to assist in direct daily patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. You will assess patient needs, contribute to treatment plans, and provide timely medication administration during 7a-7p shifts.

The role involves collaborating with RNs, performing routine nursing duties, starting IVs, monitoring telemetry per orders, documenting assessments, and communicating patient updates to families.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Georgia (GA)
• BLS certification (must obtain within 90 days)
• ACLS certification (must obtain within 6 months)
• PALS certification (must obtain within 6 months)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN to create plan of care
• Administer medications per policy and procedure
• Assess patients at shift start and as conditions change; document assessments
• Apply/ discontinue telemetry monitor per physician order
• Start IVs, insert Foley catheters and other tubes as ordered
• Provide medications including IV piggyback and IV push
• Perform routine injections under supervision
• Take patient vital signs and monitor changes
• Assist with wound care and activities of daily living
• Communicate patient updates to families and staff
• Discharge information provided to patients and families
• Participate in treatment team meetings and care plan updates
• Chart medications and patient information accurately
