Job summary

Mercyhealth Freeport Hospital in Freeport, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Med-Surg unit. The role supports nurses and the interdisciplinary team, assists with daily patient needs, and helps maintain a safe, organized care environment. Shifts are 6:30am–7pm, three 12-hour days per week.

Required CNA certification in the applicable state and CPR/BLS within 90 days. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential to delivering high-quality care during patients’

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program.
• Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
• CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as assigned and per routine according to standards, shift routines and procedures.
• Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Documents care provided according to standards; maintains clean patient environment.
• Floats to various units based on patient care needs and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists with training/precepting new partners with unit educator.
