Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Med/Surg Travel Job in Freeport, IL – 12 Hour Night Shifts

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and clinical support on medical/surgical units (3 East, 3 North, 2 North)
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, vital signs, and safe mobility
• Respond promptly to call lights and assist with patient communication
• Support care for post-operative, orthopedic, podiatry, diabetes, CHF, COPD, and wound care patients
• Collaborate with registered nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech charting system
• Follow hospital policies and infection control standards
• Wear professional scrubs (any color)

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license – Illinois CNA certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent CNA experience (medical-surgical or post-operative recovery preferred)
• Ability to float to ICU/telemetry for med/surg overflow (within CNA scope)
• Strong professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• First-time travel CNAs are encouraged to apply!

Start Date: September 12, 2025 — End Date: December 12, 2025; Contract: 13 weeks; Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM); Schedule: 36 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday rotation; Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each) with preceptor support

Estimated Weekly Salary: $850–$910
