Position Requirements and Qualifications Summary

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience required in medical/surgical nursing. Previous Charge Experience Required. Trauma Level I Experience Preferred.
• Certifications and Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Active Illinois (IL) RN license required at submission.
• Skills and Experience:
  • Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Med/Surg.
  • Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills/Experience: Telemetry - remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.
  • Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.
  • Required IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.
  • Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin.
  • Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleurevac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Portable Oxygen tank.
  • Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Colostomy/ileostomy management/care, Feeding tube care and management, Phlebotomy, PCA, Urology/Nephrology specialization, Kidney Transplant Care.
• Charting System: Experience with Cerner required.
• Certification Institutions: AHA and Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted.
• Specific Conditions and Other Details: Must be able to float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby. Will work every other weekend. Must be capable of working shifts of 3x12 nights (1845-0715). Travel Experience not required.
