Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL, seeks an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator Med Surg to oversee patient care coordination on the unit during the shift. You will lead nursing staff, ensure quality care, and collaborate with the management team to meet service goals.

Qualified candidates hold RN licensure with an associate or bachelor’s degree, BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification or training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification/training must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit.
• Collaborate with managers to create a teamwork-focused environment and improve outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and service recovery as needed.
• Operationalize nursing strategies to improve staff engagement (e.g., rounding, hourly rounds).
• Provide recommendations on interviewing, selecting, training, and performance evaluations.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
