Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Charge Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership and expert patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit. You will guide staff, ensure quality, and coordinate care across shifts to maintain high patient outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact with activation within 60 days), a Nursing Diploma/ASN (BSN preferred), and BLS. Prior acute care experience and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold Florida RN license or compact license with active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care of Med/Surg patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Provide leadership to your nursing team during your designated shift.
