SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Care Partner to support bedside patient care under RN direction. This full-time role offers a 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

schedule with rotating weekends and holidays and requires availability on Mondays and Wednesdays. Department: Med Surg. You will perform general patient care tasks and clerical duties to ensure unit operations, assist with procedures, monitor vitals, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• General Patient Care provided under RN supervision
• Unit clerical duties including transcription of orders and medical record maintenance
• Directs prompt and courteous attention to patients, families, and visitors
• Safety and Comfort: correct patient handling and comfort measures

Responsibilities

• Carries out the patient’s plan of care as it relates to the patient’s physical needs under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Delivers care requiring broad knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology and equipment
• Assists nurses and physicians with procedures
• Maintains knowledge of and operates equipment used in patient care safely
• Retrieves patient care items not routinely available on the unit
• Prepares rooms prior to admissions and following discharges, including patient belongings
• Directs prompt and courteous attention to the needs of patients, families and visitors
• Notifies appropriate department to maintain a clean, safe environment
• Provides unit clerical support and coordinates designated unit activities
