University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) seeks a Manager for Med-Com to oversee operations across Mississippi Med-Com, Emergency Management, and intra-facility patient transport. You will lead strategic programs, coordinate air/ground transport, and partner with hospital leadership to improve transfers and service delivery.

Requires a degree and four years in healthcare or emergency communications, with at least one year in leadership; RN or MS Paramedic licensure preferred; supervisory

Competenze

• Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) in healthcare or a related field.
• Four years of healthcare, emergency communications, or emergency management experience including one year in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordinating people and resources.
• Verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams.

• Assists in providing leadership and direction for effective, uniform, and economic accomplishments of assigned areas.
• Collaborates with leadership to facilitate growth and external services of Mississippi Med-Com and air/ground transport.
• Coordinates transfers and patient movement within UMMC system with main campus and community hospitals.
• Plans development of the Med-Com system with the Mississippi wireless integrated network.
• Leads project teams and applies project management processes including budget, schedule, and stakeholder communications.
• Directs daily operations of patient transport and dispatch services while upholding safety and the medical center's mission.
• Maintains scope, budget, and schedule integrity; manages resources, contracts, and communications.
• Benchmarks performance models to allocate resources to critical services; tailors processes to manage projects.
• Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and negotiates vendor accounts to maximize resources.
• Participates in management discussions and policy decisions related to emergency services.
• Manages a team in communications and disaster management; conducts performance appraisals and coaching.
• Assists in outreach and education; travel and overnight stays may be required.
• Collaborates with transport vendors to review charts for appropriate patient charges.
• Acts as SME for hospital and state MS MED-COM operations; may support field communications.
