Job Summary:

Operations mechanic supporting Columbus Engine Center’s Military Engine Center of Excellence (MECoE) in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT).

Assembly/ Disassembly: Work with assigned personnel or independently to perform flight-quality jet engine assembly/disassembly or related operations. Perform general assembly or disassembly operations. Use prescribed assembly/disassembly techniques to facilitate the flow of work through the assembly/disassembly processes to meet production schedule and business commitments.

This is a 1st Shift position: Monday – Thursday 5 am – 4 pm

What You Will Do:

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent1+ years’ experience in aviation mechanic role or appropriate technical training (ASE certification or military mechanic equivalent)
