RTX (Raytheon) Columbus, GA is seeking an Operations mechanic for the Military Engine Center of Excellence (MECoE) in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT). You will perform flight-quality jet engine assembly/disassembly and related operations to meet production schedules.

The role requires 1+ years in aviation maintenance, basic understanding of DAT, and U.S. citizenship. Onsite work with shift and safety requirements apply, including FAA regulations and optional benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 1+ year aviation mechanic experience or equivalent training.

Job Summary:

Operations mechanic supporting Columbus Engine Center's Military Engine Center of Excellence (MECoE) in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT). Assembly/ Disassembly: Work with assigned personnel or independently to perform flight-quality jet engine assembly/disassembly or related operations. Perform general assembly or disassembly operations. Use prescribed assembly/disassembly techniques to facilitate the flow of work through the assembly/disassembly processes to meet production schedule and business commitments.

What You Will Do:

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent1+ years' experience in aviation mechanic role or appropriate technical training (ASE certification or military mechanic equivalent)
• Basic understanding of DAT - Disassembly, Assembly, Test.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

This is a 1st Shift position: Monday - Thursday 5 am - 4 pm

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
