Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney division invites applications for a Mechanic at the Columbus Engine Center. You will oversee overhaul, repair, and assembly of jet engines, applying precise mechanical expertise to restore peak performance and safety on commercial and military aircraft.

This weekend shift role runs Fri-Sun, 6:30am–7:00pm, offering hands-on teamwork, strict adherence to work instructions, and opportunities to contribute to high-quality engine programs across global operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• A&P license or Powerplant certificate preferred.
• Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, and turbine engine test operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and related continuous improvement methods.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office is a plus.

Job Summary

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. This is a Weekend Shift position: Friday - Sunday 6:30am - 7:00 pm

What You Will Do

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with
• published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer

• Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP
