Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2 years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination.
• May require licensure as a professional engineer (PE) by NC Board.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise and direct highway maintenance operations.
• Respond to inquiries from public, management, media regarding policies and projects.
• Respond to highway emergencies and inclement weather.
• Manage DOT staff and purchase order contracts.
• Attend meetings and training sessions; monitor field activities.
