Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC in Wisconsin seeks an automation technician to support a smart fabrication line, including autonomous cutting, sorting, bending, punching and robotic welding. You will translate models into executable programs and assist in preventive maintenance.

The role requires PLC troubleshooting, machine setups and HMI navigation; you will work with Design Engineering, R&D and Operations to ensure production readiness and KPI performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• PLC troubleshooting and programming skills required.
• Experience with TRUMPF or similar laser/bend systems is a plus.
• Robotics and HMI experience desirable; safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is production-ready at shift start and remains optimized.
• Program parts and processes; remove bottlenecks and restart after faults.
• Lead diagnosis and repair; coordinate with suppliers when needed.
• Translate models into executable programs; support R&D and prototypes.
• Drive KPI performance: on-time delivery, quality, takt, and utilization.
• Coach operators, deliver training, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform in-station quality checks and maintain logs in a safe environment.
• Set up and run machining centers; inspect machinery and troubleshoot.
• Support schedule adherence and regulatory compliance.
