Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician in Cincinnati, OH to install, maintain, and repair advanced automated machinery. This role bridges mechanical and electrical systems within a production environment, emphasizing safety and reliability.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Engineering (or related field), an AAS in Mechatronics, and at least 10 years of technical manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• AAS in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years in a technical manufacturing environment.
• Mechatronics certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission new automated machinery including wiring, assembly, and software configuration.
• Perform preventative maintenance: lubrication, cleaning, calibration checks.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment by analyzing electrical, mechanical, and control data.
• Implement system upgrades and modifications to improve performance and safety.
• Monitor equipment performance and generate data reports to identify trends.
