Job summary

TRUMPF North America is seeking a Business Management Intern onsite in Plymouth, MI from January 2027 to August 2027, working 24 hours weekly and collaborating with Sales, Product & Project Management, Technical Service, and Applications to learn and support various industrial controls processes.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in engineering controls, robotics, and laser processing while guided by experienced professionals, preparing you for future roles in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, mechatronics, electronics or related field.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal skills.
• Great communication skills.
• Experience programming/coding in academic, coursework, or work setting.
• PLC or embedded programming experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Implementing process improvements in our Laser Application center including: Standardized Pneumatic controls system
• Updating and documenting Laser Safety Controls System
• Developing Controls test systems
• Supporting the development of standardized laser product demonstrations
• Supporting Applications team on robotics and Control topics during application development
• Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
• Adhere to all company guidelines
