Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. in Plymouth, MI invites college students to join our Laser Applications Center internship, gaining hands-on experience with TruLaser equipment and laser processing.

You will assist engineers, learn to program and use industrial lasers for feasibility studies, and contribute to customer projects in laser marking and welding. Enrolled in a 4-year engineering or physics program, you will support day-to-day operations onsite from January to August 2027, with at least 24 hours per week,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year college or university with a concentration in Engineering, Physics or related field.
• Junior or Senior status is preferred.
• Relevant industry experience with lasers or manufacturing processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Basic operation of TruLaser Cell / TruLaser Station and TruDisk / TruFiber laser equipment.
• Post processing of samples and communication with 3rd parties on post processing support.
• Assist laser application engineers with tasks related to laser cutting and welding.
• Handle metallurgy equipment and microscopes as part of experiments.
• Take part in customer visit preparations and design of experiments in laser processing.
• Work with TRUMPF software such as VisionLine Detect and participate in meetings.
