Job summary

Roanoke-Chowan Community College seeks an seasoned industry leader to bridge classroom learning with the modern manufacturing floor. This role focuses on mentoring technicians, building industry partnerships, and guiding curriculum aligned with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and robotics.

You will lead the Program Advisory Committee, oversee equipment and safety, and recruit adjunct instructors to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for students progressing to professional careers.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5–10 years of professional success in industrial environments.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, or a related engineering field.
• Prior experience in training, mentoring, or lead-person roles.
• Familiarity with modern learning technology (we will train the right candidate).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary architect for local industry partnerships and ensure students become internship and regional hiring candidates.
• Convene and lead the Program Advisory Committee and translate real-world industry trends into curriculum updates.
• Align program equipment and training with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and robotics used by local partners.
• Deliver hands-on, lab-based instruction that emphasizes practical skill-building over theory.
• Manage program documentation, equipment inventories, and safety protocols with industrial precision.
• Mentor adjunct instructors to ensure a high-quality experience for all students.
