Description

Deliver high-quality instruction in industrial maintenance and mechatronics courses (e.g., electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics/pneumatics, robotics, mechanical systems). Follow course syllabi aligned with program outcomes and industry standards. Use a variety of instructional methods (lecture, lab, hands‑on training, simulations). Integrate real‑world applications and industry practices into instruction. Provide hands‑on lab instruction using industry‑standard equipment and tools. Enforce all safety procedures and ensure a safe learning environment. Maintain lab equipment and report maintenance or supply needs. Provide academic advising related to course content and career pathways. Support student success through tutoring, mentoring, and timely feedback. Evaluate student performance through tests, labs, projects, and assignments. Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance and grades. Submit grades and required reports by institutional deadlines. Assist with curriculum updates to ensure alignment with industry needs. Support program accreditation and assessment efforts when requested. Participate in departmental meetings as required. Promote workforce readiness by incorporating employability skills. Stay up to date on current industry trends and technologies. Assist with student job placement efforts and industry partnerships when applicable. Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards. Use the college’s Learning Management System (LMS) effectively. Complete required training and professional development.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate Degree (AAS) in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant industrial experience in areas such as manufacturing, automation, maintenance, robotics, PLCs, or electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial systems, including electrical controls, PLC programming, hydraulics/pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to safely operate and instruct students on industry‑standard equipment and tools.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and workforce development.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in a technical college, community college, or industry setting.
  • Industry‑recognized certifications (e.g., MSSC CPT, Siemens Mechatronics, FANUC, OSHA, NCCER, or similar).
  • Experience with advanced automation systems, robotics, VFDs, and industrial networking.
  • Familiarity with outcomes‑based instruction.
  • Experience using modern instructional technologies and simulation software.
  • Strong connections with local industry and workforce partners.
