Job summary

Voyager Technologies, located onsite in Pueblo, CO, seeks a Mechatronics Engineer to design, commission, and sustain mechatronic systems for solid rocket motor production. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 3 years of experience in mechatronics or 1 year with Master's OR 7 years hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and commissioning mechatronic systems including robotics, motion control, sensors and electromechanical integration.
• Experience integrating hardware across subsystems including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and software control layers.
• General programming aptitude to read/modify/write control or scripting code (Python, C#, C++).
• Experience in regulated industries (aerospace/defense/chemical) with safety culture and OSHA/ITAR requirements.
• Strong documentation habits with ability to convey technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Self-starter with ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and commission mechatronic systems including robotics and motion control for solid rocket motor production.
• Maintain and improve automated systems across the production floor to maximize uptime and throughput.
• Integrate hardware with software control layers; develop system validation plans and FAT/SAT testing.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation such as schematics, validation reports and change logs.
• Identify process improvements to reduce cycle time, errors, and manual intervention.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Safety, and Compliance across product lifecycle.
• Apply root cause analysis to resolve system failures and deviations, upholding safety and quality.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate design iteration, coding, and troubleshooting workflows.
