Job summary

Abbott On Call, Inc is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to support mechanical design, software automation, and advanced visualization for government-focused projects in Tysons, VA. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or related field from ABET-accredited university.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with 3D CAD modeling experience.
• Willingness to learn new engineering software tools and programming environments.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, VBA, C++, MATLAB, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.
• Create technical visualizations and renderings to support analysis, proposals, and presentations.
• Develop scripts and automation tools to improve workflows using Python, VBA, C++, MATLAB.
• Support prototyping and additive manufacturing workflows including 3D printing and material selection.
• Prepare engineering documentation and design packages using Microsoft Office.
• Interface with customers and engineering teams to gather requirements and communicate concepts.
• Manage tasks independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team.
