Job summary

Abbott is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to provide engineering support for new Division products. You will own large electro-mechanical assembly design, conduct feasibility studies, and drive concepts from design to market with strong GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities include directing project activities, maintaining documentation, reviewing vendors, and mentoring team members. On-site full-time role in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required, MS preferred.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering or product development.
• Experience collaborating with Electrical, Mechanical and Systems teams.
• Proven CAD modeling and drawing creation using SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Ability to work on-site full-time.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support in creating and developing new Division products.
• Lead mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly design and development.
• Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
• Develop concepts from design to market release with GD&T knowledge.
• Direct support personnel and coordinate project activities.
• Maintain detailed documentation throughout R&D phases.
• Review vendor activities and utilize simulation tools for design evaluation.
• Mentor junior staff and potentially lead a project team.
