Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Automation Maintenance/Electromechanical Technician Certification preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in automation maintenance or related field.
  • Ability to read ladder logic and PLC ladder diagrams; upload/download PLC programs.
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical theory.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent English communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on molding/production machines and related equipment.
  • Perform machine start-up, setup, and changeovers; resupply equipment with consumables.
  • Move machines and install redesigned parts and systems.
  • Train other technicians in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Document repairs and maintenance using proper documentation procedures.
  • Propose and implement improvements; modify PLC programs as needed.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities; communicate with production team.

Description

About This Role:

Hunter Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Maintenance Technician III to perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to molding/production machines and related equipment.

Essential Functions:

Performs advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to molding/production machines and related equipment.

Performs machine start-up, setup, and changeovers. Resupplies equipment with wire spool, grease, silicone, labels, and tapes.

Moves machines and installs redesigned parts and systems to molding and assembly machines.

Works with Production team members to ensure they are satisfied with equipment maintenance performed.

Documents equipment repairs and maintenance performed to machinery and associated equipment, utilizing correct documentation procedures.

Submits suggestions for electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic performance-improving modifications to molding and assembly machines and related equipment. Performs electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, robot troubleshooting, linear motors, and PLC program modification, corrective actions, or upgrade to enhance equipment performance.

Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance activities. Communicates with production team members to ensure they are satisfied with maintenance service provided.

Trains other technicians in all areas of equipment repair and maintenance.

Generates and implements equipment maintenance procedures.

Evaluates needs and generates part requisitions to ensure replacement parts are stocked in inventory.

Seeks to improve own skill level by participating in apprenticeship program, taking job-related courses, and attending technical seminars.

May be required to work overtime and/or varying hours, as necessary.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Automation Maintenance/Electromechanical Technician Certification preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in automation maintenance or related field.

What You Bring:

  • Excellent mechanical skills with knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical theory.
  • Ability to read ladder logic and PLC ladder diagrams and to upload/download PLC programs.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of power and hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and associated engineering documentation.
  • Ability to purchase own hand‐tools and some electrical troubleshooting devices, if necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to work with members across the organization and to train and mentor other team members.

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $31.25 to $35.00, plus a 5% shift differential.
